Stanford Online I Geophysical Imaging to Recharge Groundwater - Course Overview
Harnessing the Power of Geophysical Imaging to Recharge California’s Groundwater (SDSS-XGP150)
Groundwater is a vital resource – providing water for homes, farms, communities, businesses, and the natural environment. In many places groundwater is being pumped faster than is naturally recharging, leaving the system in imbalance. Increasing the natural recharge with Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) is a strategy to help bring the system into balance. Locating the best sites for MAR however, is often difficult.
In this course, you will learn how to determine whether one attribute of a site is optimal for efficiently moving water from the ground surface down to the water table. In other words, are there “fast paths” that can be located with geophysical imaging. You will also learn how to use t...

Online Groundwater Mentorship Session 3: Geophysical Surveys
Alicanto Groundwater Solutions has started an online groundwater mentorship program to provide basic training and to share our experience with new graduates and junior groundwater scientists. Through the program we are hoping to be able to equip those new to the industry, and still trying to enter the industry, with a good foundational knowledge so that they can contribute to the field as soon as possible!
This is a recording of our third session on 21 July 2020, where we went through some basic training and core concepts when conducting a geophysical survey for groundwater exploration.

Introduction to Geology
Geology is the study of the Earth itself. But contrary to popular belief, geologists don't just look at rocks all day. Of course rocks are important to study, but geologists also study earthquakes, volcanoes, glaciers, and the structure of the Earth from the crust all the way to the core. What kinds of techniques do they use, and what have they discovered? Let's find out together in this geology series!

Airborne Electromagnetic data - mapping mineral and groundwater resources
A movie highlighting the world’s largest airborne electromagnetic survey in the Northern Territory and Queensland. The new geoscience data has been collected by Geoscience Australia’s Exploring for the Future program, in partnership with the Northern Territory and Queensland geological surveys.
A total of 60,000 line kilometres of data were acquired over 2017 and 2018. Providing new insights into mineral-rich areas in Northern Australia that have not been extensively explored. This new research will enable government, the exploration industry and the research community to better understand the mineral potential of northern Australia.
